Disable some devices
Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to linux. I'm using Mandrake 10 on a laptop and everything seems to run fine so far. I'm looking for a way to disable all devices I never use, like serial ports, scsi port, modem, wifi (which is considered as a PMCIA card even if it is integrated)... I tried to look in Mandrake Control Center, but I didn't find what I'm looking for. Can anyone lead me there? Thx in advance. |
go to the /etc/rc.d directory.. there are a bunch of files in there. At least, thats how slackware has it setup but i know it may be different on mandrake.

Thx. There are a lot of files there, where should I start from?
I tried to search for any file containing the text 'eth1' (which is the wifi network), but didn't find anything. |
