Directories and Meanings

Can someone please fill me in on what all of the directories mean (what kind of data they hold). For example, I have read that /etc holds configuration files.

I know that it is kind of a broad question, but any info would help.

I am using Fedora C3

Just a brief description:

/bin -- executable files (programs)
/boot -- boot information, linux kernels
/dev -- device files (links to your hardware)
/home -- user home directories
/lib -- libraries (glib, xlib, etc)
/mnt -- mount points (folders to connect to media like hardrives and cdroms, etc)
/proc -- virtual filesystem, filled dynamically by the kernel with misc info
/root -- root's home directory
/sbin -- executable files mainly needed by root only
/sys -- a lot like proc
/tmp -- holds temporary files
/var -- I think var is short for variable, similar idea as tmp
/usr -- Where most everything else goes
/etc -- config information
/usr/bin -- more programs
/usr/include -- header files for programming
