No, apt is not strictly for fetching from a network. You just set up your cdrom as the source.

Thats true Rory...personal preference I guess...

However as easy as Suse is... i've installed it on 6 different machines... and when I did an online update, each computer never booted up again... I had to play around alot just to get it back online... this was in October though with 9.1 I dont' know if that problem was fixed or not... I reinstalled those machines with FC3 and suse 9.2
