Seriously though, what I mean is that it looks like you've incorrectly altered/modified a line somewhere in that file, and now it's complaining about it. The "48" is probably the line number, which would put it in the "Module" section, as the error says.
Post your XF86Config file (using cut and paste, so that there are no typos). Also tell us which version of Redhat and which vid card you use.

well, i was gonna say that id love to post my X86 file, but that id need to get X to work first. Fortunatley enuf, i did :p. i just remembered that "hey last time i ran Xconfigurator it made a valid config file right, so if i just run that again and choose all the same options then i..." and it even worked must be my lucky day i guess :p. anyways, i guess this problem is pretty much solved, but i wanted to point out that a) i managed to stumble my thru something without asking 400 questions and just following the word-by-word instructions fo someone more expirienced than me :p and that b) i never actualy edited my Config file i just used XF86Config, and ill prolly never use it again :p. but if anyone is still interested in the continuing saga of my amusing Linux problems then im sure ill have more :newbie: questions to post soon :p
