Difference Between VNC and Remote X
I was trying to setup remote secure administration, my server is running Mandrake 9.1. I had problems setting up VNC using SSH. In the process I got remote X windows going with SSH and have been using gnome-session to have easy access to everything.
So, my questions are: 1.) What is the advantage of TightVNC over remote X Windows? 2.) If there are many more advantages in using VNC, is there a clear guide to setting up a secure connection. 3.) Is SSH secure enough for remote administration. Thanks in advance, Eric :newbie: |
ssh is very secure. vnc gives you a "window" on the other machine while remote X windows looks like you are running the program on your machine. :-)
