Difference between make clean and uninstall

Hi there all,

I am curious to know what is the difference between make clean and make uninstall when removing a program. Under what circumstances do I use one or the other ?

You should use make clean every time you compile a program. It won't remove the program itself, but it will clean unneeded files creating during the compiling process. make uninstall is very clear about what it does right

That helps...

however that mean that when I want to reinstall an application and I use make clean (as suggested in an answers article in this site) the files installed will just be overwritten right ?

Is it worth it to do a make uninstall if I just want to reinstall an app ?
