Difference between Fedora and RH
 

What is the difference between Red Hat & Fedora .Are they same products?
About Mandrake it is good for newbie but what about to Fedora .Can a new user can use it ? Is it user frimdly as well ?

fedora is the community based version of red hat basically. for the most part, not much difference, both rpm based distros...fedora is probably the choice for you between the two.
i've never used mandrake, but i hear it's extremely newbie friendly.

There are technically differences between fedora and redhat, but to most people fedora is just the continuation of redhat. Fedora is (from what I understand) a testing branch of the redhat system, it is free to use and modify, but is more or less a place to test out things for later being included in RHEL, which is the paid enterprise offering from redhat. The desktop version of redhat went numerically 7, 7.3, 8, 9, and then the fedoras start - FC1, FC2, FC3, and in a few months, we'll have FC4.

I have found FC to be super newbie friendly. It detects many things out of the box, and with the help of these forums you can get things working (it doesn't allow mp3 playback out of the box, nor will it install nvidia drivers worth a rats ass), but it is friendly and easy to use.

Both FC3 and Mandrake are easy to install. The have very friendly GUI features and good options for updating (see yum for FC3 and urpmi (easy urpmi) for Mandrake). They are both easy for new users to learn.
