difference between // and /
Hi :)

Please i am new on the world of Linux and i want to know why we write "//" not just "/" between folders.
Exemple: /home/bacon/.CA/simpleCA//private/key.pem
What is the difference?
And Thanks

There is no difference. There is an extra / at one place. It can be removed.

I have never seen any definition of "//". On my system, cd dir/subdir and cd dir//subdir do the same thing. Also cd dir////subdir.

Perhaps someone made a typo in a document???
