Hello,

I got some questions below.

What does it mean by "did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to Daemon0"?

I got lots of this entries in the maillog. Need to know what's wrong.

Oct 10 00:50:26 localhost sendmail[24501]: n99HoQUB024501: mmsbigip01.dtac.co.th [198.18.34.252] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to Daemon0
Oct 10 00:50:37 localhost sendmail[24521]: n99HobXM024521: mmsbigip02.dtac.co.th [198.18.34.253] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to Daemon0
Oct 10 00:50:56 localhost sendmail[24577]: n99HouxU024577: mmsbigip01.dtac.co.th [198.18.34.252] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to Daemon0
Oct 10 00:51:07 localhost sendmail[24606]: n99Hp78i024606: mmsbigip02.dtac.co.th [198.18.34.253] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to Daemon0


Does this block the smtp traffic?

As far as I recall the SMTP protocol the commands that are written in the log lines should/can come right after the HELO oder EHLO command. After the inital greeting so to speak.

They don't block traffic and are a mere hint for you that somebody created a successfull connection but did not do anything with it.
