Did I write GRUB over part of Windows?
So I have RedHat 9 installed, dual booted with Windows XP Pro. I haven't used the windows side of the box in like 2 or 3 weeks. Anyway, I recompiled the kernel using the 2.4.22 source. Now when I try to boot into what GRUB has listed as DOS (i.e. my windows side), the screen just shows what is in the grub.conf file.
rootnoverify (hd0,0) chainloader +1 GRUB That's all it does. It just hangs there. Do I have to reinstall windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Phekno |
you have mentioned how to amended added your sweet kernel.
post your partition info and your /etc/fstab file. In the meantime I will assume win is on hda1 and go into linux and edit your /boot/grub menu 1 file root (hd0,0) rootnoverify makeactive chainloader +1 dont try this if you have no tested linux boot floppy |
