dialup ISP connects but can't navigate

I have RedHat 7.2 with a modem and ethernet cards installed.
Before the ethernet card was configed I could get to the web.
now a message is given that the site is not known.
when I list the routes there is no default entry for the dialup modem.
My ISP uses dynamic IP alocation.

How do I set up a default gateway to the ttys4 address.

Thanks in advance
