I am new to this Linux stuff. Someone told me that I can use "ndiswrapper" to run my 802.11 PCI card with the windows drivers that it came with on cd. I got it to work. I do not know anything about ndiswrapper or how it works, but OpenSuse has some web on it for 802.11. It might work with your modem if you have the windows driver cd for it. Ndiswrapper looked for the INF file so you need that for it to work.

You have also been told about posting to a relevant thread! This thread is about dialup access. You are asking about wireless. See the difference?

You need to find out what kind of wireless card you have - no, it's not "802.11 PCI".
Enter "lspci" into a terminal - look for the line that mentions "wireless" or "wifi" stuff. It will have the chipset manufacturer name and a number in it. Copy it to a new post in a thread which also talks about the same chipset - but read the thread first: chances are it solves the issue for you.

If you want to refer to "somebody" - link to their comment. That way, respondants can go look for themselves.

If someone suggests something you know nothing about - put the name into a google search bar and press enter. You'll soon know more than you need.
