Hello ,I am so new to linux-ubuntu I had my computer worked on and the guy put ubuntu on it . Now my problem is I can`t get it to connect to internet. (So far behind in this to ) I still have dial up.I.S.P.Netzero The best I can tell is netzero.deb is installed java is installed. I have tried to set the manual configuration every way possible still no connection. Have check some things in the terminal come up cannot find file. Can`t
ping anything . Can try www.netzero.com says server not found. If anyone can help I need plain simple instructions. Not that familiar with computers either I have tried all the terminal things that i have found and still nothing t.i.a. |
Maybe you should use a different dialer program, kppp for example. There is an old thread where I wrote a step-by-step guide how to configure kppp to get it work. The thread is here

edit if your /etc/resolv.conf with the netzero nameservers and make sure it is readable by others.
this howto covers most problems getting netzero to work http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...etzero-628659/ |
I think netzero will only work with sun-java's java and not with the the open source java that debian based distro,s now use.
