dhcp at startup

I've read a few listing that sort of addressed my problem but hopefully someone can walk me through this. DHCP doesn't seem to start at boot. I don't know if it's a permit issue or start config issue./ However, If I open my network config tool as root and apply settings, then exit to user mode, I can connect to router/internet. If anyone con help walk me through the setup or chmod (which ever is preventing me from connecting to router at start) it would be appreciated.

I'm a novice though not totally lost.

Your ethernet configuration can be set in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1, you can set DHCP in there and it should work every time.

If this does not, there may be a tool to do this, depending on your distro.

I looked on the morphix site and some of the documentation was deadlinked.
rc.inet1 should do the trick though,
