dhcp


i am using madrake.... a wise person told me inorder to solve my IP problems i would need to turn on the dhcp on my linux sysetm... but noobie me did not tell this person what linux that i am using... (mandrake) .... this person said that it was just one command that does this ... and i can not find this person right now and i am in kinda of an emergency.... can some one help me?????

i also have somthing wrong with the "ipchains for kernel 2.4"
it got to here in the boot up and now it wont do a thing..... did i break it???? is it fixable??? linux dosent like me..... =(

to make an interface use dhcp there are loads of ways to go at it. the most direct one would be to just edit /etc/sysconfg/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and change "static" to "dhcp"
