Device Manager

I know about dmesg but is there an actual "Device Manager" in Linux like there is in Windows? I am using Slackware.

There is one in mandrake i think. I dont use mandrake but I remember seeing a device manager sort of think in it. I think it was Mandrake 9.2 and the program was called drakeconf I think. It was pretty neat.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Also I believe I have heard of something called Driver On Demand - - and that sounds pretty cool, kinda reminds me of a device manager but not entirely. I'll check your suggestion out as well, thanks!
