/dev/psaux problem with 2.6.2

hi there.

today ive tried to use a precompiled kernel image for debian. when i first rebooted it worked well. kdm was working well.

since i rebooted again i wont get any mouse signals anymore. if i am doing a

cat /dev/psaux i wont get any output while moving the mouse. everything seems dead and wont print any output. so it doesnt seem to have anything to do with X. there seems to be a problem with drivers? any ideas how to workaround?

when i am rebooting with kernel 2.4.22 the mouse is working like before...

any ideas why i get no mouse?

Code:
PS/2 #
# Userland interfaces
#
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_PSAUX=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_X=1024
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_Y=768
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_PSAUX_ENABLE=y
CONFIG_INPUT_JOYDEV=m

...

#
# Input Device Drivers
#
CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBOARD=y
CONFIG_KEYBOARD_ATKBD=y
# CONFIG_KEYBOARD_SUNKBD is not set
# CONFIG_KEYBOARD_XTKBD is not set
# CONFIG_KEYBOARD_NEWTON is not set
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSE=y
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2=y
