Detecting hardwares


Which file contains the list of all hardwares detected.

there is no such file per se. please explain what you are after in particular.....

"lspci" -v ran as root gives many infos about any harware installed on pci bus, ie graphic cards, softmodems, sound cards ....
"dmesg" prints many onfos about ide hard drives, ide cd/dvd rom derives, scsi drives ....
