Desktop search in Linpus, Change from Yahoo to Google

I have a new Acer Aspire One running Linpus. Its default search (on the top of the desktop) is yahoo, but I prefer Google. I was content to ignore this till my mum got an identical machine to mine... with the search linking to Google, and not yahoo. There is nothing in the manual about this, how do I change it?

Do you mean a search on the Navigation bar of Firefox? Click the down arrow beside it and a drop down menu should appear. Choose Google>

You can change your Home page to Google. Go to Google than go Edit>Preferences>Main>Choose current page.

I did both of those straight away! and no, the search bar I'm referring to is integral to the desktop, just above the icon buttons. I've found a way to remove it completely but not to alter where it searches.

Thanks for your help so far,
DB
