Desktop KDE vs Gnome


Hi folks, Newbie here.., I have just installed openSuse 10.3 which is working great..but i've got a question what do you think is better desktop between "KDE" and "GNOME"..?

Desktop environment is usually a matter of personal choice. Some users prefer Kde; some prefer Gnome; some prefer XFCE, etc.

Just try them and stick with the one you like best.

Try them all yourself, not only KDE and Gnome but others as well. One of them isn't better then all the rest but all of them are best at something, just see what fits you best.

I was all set to suggest Gnome, only because it's the one
that I like. I agree with the suggestion to try them all.
However, I'd recommend using the default one for the distro,
which I believe is Gnome. This will make it easier to work
with documentation which uses the default desktop.

A purely subjective question. You have to decide for yourself what DE or WM works best for you.

Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion, I will try some other desktop, but for now I am really comfortable working with GNOME
