Desktop Environment as root!!
a server at work has been accessed through the desktop environment as root.
I know this is a risk and since I have never done it before I was wondering if there are any files created by the desktop that could compromise the system and how could I clean it up. thanks in advance **Edit** The Desktop environment it uses is Gnome in a RHEL OS |
Nothing to worry about. Simply logging in and running GNOME as root isn't going to do any harm.
It's only a bigger risk than logging in to a command line session because in to a GUI environment it's easier to change things, hence easier to change things by accident and without realising it, because you can just click on stuff rather than having to type in commands. |
thanks arizonagroovejet
I'll just create a regular user then. |
