Desktop, configuration and script guidance
I am running Slackware 13.37 on several machines, along with NIS/YP. As a user, I would like to walk up to any machine, login and start KDE. That's the simple part.
Here's the part I need guidance with... Depending upon the machine, or a script that I start after login, I would like to get a different default desktop, all under KDE 4. In other words, I would for a given linux login name, there would be a default startup for KDE, which would configure N desktops, and start a few applications on the appropriate desktops. THEN, if I log in from a special machine, it would start up a different set of desktops, with different applications on them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Has anyone done something like this? Thanks in advance. |
I don't run KDE now, but I think you need to look at the dot files in each users home directory to achieve this,
sorry I can't help other than this. |
