They're all different in the way they manage resources and hardware.

Also, they're all excellent for allowing you to research your homework topics.....

Well that kind of depends on what you really need to know. For example if you are looking for a gaming os. Windows may be the best. But for web servers or just a home office then Linux has a stable with great security that could be right for you.

So what is it that you really want to do?

Windows is written by Microsoft, Mac OS runs on machines that are colored white, Unix came first, Linux is free. Hope that helps.

What research have you done? Even a simple google should give you some ideas as to the differences.

They are spelled differently.

They all suck, but Unix and Linux suck less.

cheers,

Please use descriptive thread titles in future, i.e. ones that say something about your question/problem. You are told to do this when you post a new thread.

They're all worse than the others. Which means they're all better than the others. This is called "non-commutative logic", and it only applies to discussions of operating systems. Well, also women, politics and religion.

Maybe after due reflection on the quality and usefulness of this exchange, you will post a meaningful inquiry.

Thanks for your help, but I found what I was looking for in Yahoo Answers.
