Dependencies install questions XFree86
[keith@LinuxBox keith]$ rpm -i tightvnc-server-1.2.9-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies: XFree86 is needed by tightvnc-server-1.2.9-1 [keith@LinuxBox keith]$ My question is: is XFree86 a program that will install on gnome or is a replacement for gnome or is avlb in kde or WHAT! Any clarity on relationship of these will be appreciated. lercture me I learn quick. |
X is both a server and a client.
So it's basically independent. GNOME, KDE, XFCE, ... are all window makers that help you using X. The reason for your error is easy. FC2 uses x.org and not xfree86. |
So I can't use tight VNC because it has a dependecy on Xfree86 and Fedora uses X.org... ?
