Angry denied access to move files into /usr/src directory

I've installed Mandrake 10.1 and so far so good with the exception my Internet connection. I've downloaded a couple of files to make my wireless card compatible.

I untarred the files OK, however I'm denied whenever I try to move them into the directory: /usr/src. Also, I cannot run command; make config; make all, etc....

I've tried running the commands from the root console on Kconsole. I'm dazed and confused.

Are you logged in as root? What's the permissions of /usr/src ? And you should really place the tar.gz file in /usr/src, and then untar it there.

System Administrator? If you don't have sudo access or root's password, I'd talk to your system admin before proceding.
