Dell Inspiron B130 wireless help

Can you help me with this? It says the firmware isn't installed, how can I get the firmware?

Hi,

the "correct" way to get the firmware will depend on what distribution you are using. So, what distro and version are you running?

It would also help to know precisely which wireless chipset you have. With a Dell, there's a good chance it's Broadcom.

Try running the command lspci in a terminal. That should report the wireless chipset. Post the results here, making sure to enclose them in "code" tags, which become available when you click "Go Advanced" down there at the bottom of the Quick Reply window.

A quick duckduckgo indicates that it is probably:

Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection (rev 05)

Anyway I was just going to suggest installing the full bundle of firmware for whatever distro the OP is using...

Some distributions strip binary blobs from the kernels they distribute.

That doesn't tell us what driver it uses. What does

Code:
lspci -n
give you?
