Dell duo cant connect to internet in ubuntu 11.04


For whatever reason it wont connect to the internet without being in windows 7.Im really new and had a friend with ubuntu and just liked the way it ran.Ive done all the stuff it says to do on the internet things ive found but it wont work.

Please be more specific: Which hardware exactly? Wired or wireless? What "stuff" have you done and what error messages did you get exactly?
Post as much info as you can, it will help us to help you.

By the way, welcome to Linux and LQ!

wireless.One suggestion i found was to disable wired b/c it might get in the way and confuse but all that did was say error device not found.

what do u mean by hardware , what i installed or my computer specs?All i did what download the os then put on a cd.I have it running with windows 7,i havent been able to put on any other programs because the internet it dnt work even when i was setting up.
