Sorry about that. I run the alsaconf and the system reports back that it has no cards. No supported PNP or PCI cards found.
Then Probing Legacy ISA cards ... then I see these errors
modinfo: could not find module snd-cs4232
modinfo: could not find module snd-cs4231
modinfo: could not find module snd-es1688
modinfo: could not find module snd-sb8
Then
Probing legacy cards.. This may take a few minutes..
Probing: opl3sa2 : FOUND!!
Then it configure the opl3sa2 ....
The audio for the Dell is Sigmatel9205 , thats what the bios says.
Then this message
Loading driver...
/usr/sbin/alsaconf: line 678: rcalsasound: command not found
Setting default volumes...
Then this
Now ALSA is ready to use.
For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.
