DeLi Linux installation issue
Hi, I'm trying to get DeLi Linux installed on a very old computer, but I am having an issue. I'm currently at the busboy shell (I booted the computer with the boot floppy and loaded the root floppy), but I can't get the SCSI kernel modules to load.
I copied the scsi.dsk file to a floppy disk (using dd on my other Linux computer), but when I run the SCSI module program, it asks me to insert the floppy, it says it mounted the disk, but I can't do anything with the kernel modules. How do I use them? And how do I mount the SCSI drive? Also, can I install DeLi Linux via a PLIP connection (connect a LapLink cable from my Linux computer with Internet access to the old computer, and run everything through the proxy I have installed, which I do to get another computer online?) |
I think I found something else: Some of the modules that I downloaded from the site, including the scsi.dsk file (which has SCSI modules on it) were compiled for newer versions of the Linux kernel, which it says I should have, but uname -r shows I'm running kernel 2.2.4... which is too old to use these modules.
What do I do now? |
