Red face delete files


mandrake 10.0
i can not delete these file by a root user.
i need to delete dir. 1.


[root@Simlab-node3 Desktop]# rm -rf 1/
rm: cannot remove `1//DSMC': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Fortron': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Gambit 2.0.4': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Games': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Gridgen v13.3.11': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Thinking in C++ Volume2.pdf': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//WMP7.EXE': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//Webserver': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//WinRAR': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//WordWeb': Read-only file system
rm: cannot remove `1//fluent6.1': Read-only file system
[root@Simlab-node3 Desktop]#


so how to delete this DIR.

EVEN I CAN NOT DELETE BY GUI MODE.

Just a question, is dir1 in another file system you had to mount????

'Cause if that's the case, you probably mounted that filesystem read-only.....

Just a guess, but I'd say you've got your filesystem mounted read-only

Run "mount" and check the output. If you can't understand it, paste it here.
