Question "Delete" button in shell, CD Writers

hey, hello everyone. i'm a to linux . can someone help me on some problems?

i've just installed Slackware 8. and i'm encountering some problems, some of them i've solved thru , but i need some help on others:

1) do i need to turn on some option to use the "Delete" button in the shell? (right now i'm using bash, dunno if that matters.... probably not)

2) what options should i use in /etc/fstab for my Plextor CD Writer? if i just use "ro" then will i be able to burn sth?

thks very much everyone!
