Deepin 15.7 Brightness Issue

I just installed Deepin 15.7, and after applying the updates and rebooting halfway through the logo loading screen the os posts new settings and dims my brightness immensely. The system settings are set to max, so I assume the max physical brightness was limited. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

There should be a brightness key in conjunction with the fn key. Just turn up the brightness in the hardware.

I tried that, and it wouldn't work. The only way to pseudo fix it is to suspend the PC, wait for the screen to time out then log back in and the brightness is back. The terminal is also really locked down, I'm finding it very hard to even get into the hardware options from that route.
