Dedicated Server with CentOS 4.x and DNS
I'm new to Linux, got my Dedicated server recently and I want to make a domain work on a subfolder or own IP. I mean, I want to have an index with my domain like if I used cPanel but created manualy as I do not have cpanel on my server. How can I do this? I know it's something about master zones and that but I'm really new and I need step by step, I'm also using webmin.
Thanks & Regards. |
no idea what you want at all... can you explain it a little... a lot... clearer? an index?

I have installed Apache. You can access my HTTP files by just entering the IP. What I want to do is like create a subfolder which will be accessed as an index of a domain. Like www.mydomain.com will point and work with ipaddres/mydomain. And the domain will not be forward, but will work on subfolders created and all that.
Get what I mean now? Regards. |
OK. you want to have two urls: http://1.2.3.4/example and http://example.com and you want the page returned to be the same thing? well that's just two seperate virtual servers within apache. you will of course require external DNS to resolve the domain to your IP address, but you don;t say you have any problems with that part of it.. so just bog standard virtual servers in httpd.conf
