Open the file with Vim, use the :X command again and just press Enter instead of typing in a key. Then save the file and it will not be encrypted.

Decryption is easy. If you just do "vim <filename>" it will prompt for the password. Once the file is open in vim, issue the ":X" again and when it asks for the encryption key just hit Return/Enter for the key and again for confirmation. Then just save the file with :w and it is saved unencrypted.
