I'm using fedora core 3 x86_64 on my desktop (although not at the moment, see
this) and ubuntu on my laptop. I must say, ubuntu is by far the easiest distro I've ever used, the setup process was relatively simple, it worked with ALL the hardware in my thinkpad i1300 except the AMR modem, and it actually plays nice with my fat-formatted jumpdrive, without the need to manually mount it. The only real complaint I have is the disabling of the root user account, it makes life hard to try and sudo into nautilus to browse my windows shares, and for some reason, if I do sudo mount ..., as soon as I select a file on the mounted drive it becomes hidden.
