Debugging kernel module

I am looking for debugging the g_printer.ko and net2280.ko modules, I understand one way is to put printk messages and see the printk output in using dmesg.
But actually I am searching for a method to get the data recieved at the endpoints so should i put the printk messages and send the data to the device and then capture using dmesg? or is there any other correct way of determining whether data is coming...
