Debian Woody Install Help

Hey everyone,first timer here so be gental. ;)

Ok i cant get my desktop enviroment up.I had to use gnome2 cause kde wouldnt install properly after 38times trying...kept getting broken this or broken that.

Anyway i think i may have it all in this time but i have gnome2 set to default.....the dektop or X wants to load but blinks 3 times,throws an error of being not configured.

I get;

EE unable to find valid framebuffer device

EE screen(s) found,but none have useable configuration

fine i understand why it dont come up but how do i configure it or make it recognise my gf3-t500 visiontek vid card

I have pointed to "nv" and it uses 2809 i believe from nvidia...i do have newest kernal,source,driver from nvidia on disk...just have installed yet.

Everything else seems fine on this newly first try at linux distro install.I have no problem with aptget and updates installs etc. and have latest of all.
I did check and have no broken pakages or un installed pakages at the moment.

I looked in the suse install thread on another forum and someone gave a command trick

earth:root # sax2 -m 0=fbdev

to allow system to pick proper framebuffer for card....will it work here?

any ideas welcomed...thanx in advance :confused:

I have had the same exact problem---I went back to slack, though I would love to use deb.
