debian sarge firewall
Is there a default firewall in Debian Sarge i'm trying to open Azureus and it sates that theres a problem with the port and to verify the port is open... I looked but am not sure where to find the firewall or what the problem is...

Post the results of the command
Code:
iptables -L |
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination |
The returned output means that there are no firewall rules enabled (read firewall turned off), so that shouldn't stop Azureus from connecting.
Are you sure that Azureus is set up alright? Check the available options, I've never used Azureus. See http://azureus.sourceforge.net/doc/A...er%20Guide.htm and http://azureus.sourceforge.net/faq.php#10 for guidance. If you're part of a LAN, ask your administrator for support. |
i'll look into it thanks

More likely that you are behind a router that is either firewalling or NATing
What sort of internet connection do you have? |
Well i'm on a cable modem, and it goes straight to this pc there is no firewall hardwall enabled.. I looked at Azureus's site and they couldn't help... if theres no other ideas maybe it just wont work.. is there another torrnet program out there that doesn't always run or that someone else would recommend?
