Debian LAMP server not booting without monitor
Hi,
i have set up a working Debian LAMP server, and i want to use it without keyboard/mouse/monitor attached as a server. I can still access it through serial console so i can controll it. When i attach a monitor it boots fine on the monitor and through the serial console, but when i boot it without a monitor attached it stops after grub when he should load the kernel. I have already looked in the bios and turned 'halt on' on 'no errors' and tried to edit the grub configuration but i can't get it to work without a monitor. Anybody can help me? Thanks |
It's probably halting on no keyboard.

Nope. it works fine without keyboard

found this:
http://www.monowall.procad.sk/boot_without_monitor.php isn't there a softwarematic way to do this? like letting grub think there is a monitor attached to the computer? Thanks |
*bump again*
last try, if nobody has an answer i'll have to find another solution. Found out when installing LILO and removing GRUB that it does the same thing, so i figured it should be in the kernel. Does it search for a monitor attached before it loads or something similar, and is there a way to skip this so it boots? |
