Debian Installation - NIC problem

I know this is going to sound really pathetic, but I'm having a MAJOR problem installing Debian Woody because the installation procedure refuses to recognize my Netgear FA310TX card. I have installed Debian a few times before (I think with this same card), and never had a problem.
During the installation procedure, when I am selecting the device drivers, none of the drivers seem to work. I know the tulip driver should work, but the driver installation fails.
I have tried using the pci-scan and using that seems to work at first (eth0 goes on the list of network adapters) but the network configuration fails everytime (both automatic, and manual). I have even tried compiling and installing the tulip driver myself, but I end up with about ten errors that I can't seem to fix. I read another post about someone with a similar compilation problem in Debian, but that didn't seem to really help my specific situation. (sorry for not including the specific error information, I'm at work and don't have access to my machine)

Any ideas on why the Debian install process might not recognize my card???? Any ideas on what other steps to take??

Maybe you should try installing the bf24 flavor. It uses a later kernel (24 -> 2.4.x), so more hardware is supported. The vanilla flavor kernel is the true blue 2.2.20.

Found the solution

If anyone else out there has a silimar problem, I found out that it is
A) Very difficult to find a solution
B) VERY easy to fix once you do!!

Apparently there is some problem with the Debian installer that will result in strange errors with PCI devices (especially NIC's) when your BIOS option PlugAndPlayOS is set to `Yes'. Make sure this is set to `No' and you shouldn't run into this!!

Thanks for everyone's help!!
