debian booting to xwindows w/ no mouse

Hi all,
I'm very green so please bare with me. I've installed and reconfigured the inittab to boot to xwindows, unfortunately I've configured my mouse to the wrong port and I do not know how to boot back to text mode or how to use shortcut keys in xwindows. Any ideas??

Thank you,

Illennium

Using Lilo?
You could try hitting the 'Ctrl' key while rebooting, then starting to single user mode by typing: linux single
