Debian and samba
 
i have used redhat before, but now i use DEBIAN.
so i used the apt-get install samba command to get samba. so debian installed samba but now

whe i do smbclient i'll get an error.

how do i start samba, and how can i see if my smbd an nmdb are running (if not how do i get them started)

i forgot to metion, i use debian text based

and when i'm in /etc/init.d and do samba start i get the error "samba: command not found"

Use ps -A to see what processes are running. To start services, use the appropriate scripts in /etc/init.d. In this case,
