Debian 7.6.0 under Hyper-V
Hi,
I am running Windows 8.1 with Debian 7.6.0 as the guest OS via Hyper-V. I am trying to set up a folder on the guest to share out with other Windows machines on the LAN including the host. When I create a mapped network drive in Windows 8.1 I get a login prompt for machine 'debian' which is what I called the guest machine. I have user 'storage' set-up to have read/write access to the folder 'test' which is what I am trying to share. When I enter the username/password in the Windows prompt I get the following error: The account in not authorized to log in from this station. BTW, all machines are part of workgroup 'WORKGROUP'. Any help would be great. Thank you EDIT: I will give a bit more info maybe it will help. Samba is the latest version installed via synaptic. I cannot access the share from Windows 7 or 8.1. Error message is the one given above in all cases. IP network is okay; everything can ping everything. Machine 'debian' is seen in windows explorer when browsing the workgroup. I cannot access it by clicking the icon either; same error message. |

Didn't know they added hyper-v.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../dn614985.aspx Pretty well supported in fact. More info if you still need it. http://nbsoftsolutions.com/blog/linu...client-hyper-v |
