Debian 6 + Windows 7
Currently I have Windows 7 but my disk is partitioned in a weird way and I don't know what to do. I want to have Debian next to Windows (with hibernation working). Here you can see some info from Windows: http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/6504/capturecxj.jpg
I found many tutorials but under debian, during installation there's "unusable space" which i choose but then i get just a message "show cylinders/head/Sector information". There supposed to be "unallocaced space" not "unusable" Here's what i get during installation: SCSI1 (0,0,0) (sda) -320,1GB > #1 primary 314,6MB (Boot) ntfs > #2 primary 274,7GB ntfs > unusable 26,9GB unusable > #3 primary 16,1GB ntfs > #4 primary 2,1GB fat32 What's wrong? |
I think you're having a problem because you're only allowed to have 4 primary partitions, you can get around this by adding an extended partition.

Backup the data from last two partitions and remove all partitions except first two. After that create extended partition (for all unallocated 45.1 Gb)

It worked but now I'm stuck because every tutorial says to install someething and i dont have internet connection. I cant see any GUI configurator. How to get it? How to install some tools without internet on debian?
During installation there was problem with missing "rtl_nic/rtl8168d-2fw" but i downloaded it on windows and used dpkg on debian. "ifconfig -a" prints two interfaces: eth0 without any configured staff, and loopback. |
