Debian 5.0 router

I want to make a debian 5.0 router, firewall. I am very new and unfamiliar with linux. I could use some help.

I use an old Intel Celeron 500Mhz, 256MB RAM 8GB HDD installed with Debian 5.0.4 "lenny" I installed 2 NIC's eth0 is for the adsl modem and the eth1 is for the dedicated router. I don't want to use the command line of linux so I installed GNOME. Please give me a step-by-step instructions. Thanks.
