Debian 10 wifi connection

Hello, I am having a wifi problem on Debian 10. I can connect to the 5GHz at home (only when very close) but I cannot connect to the 2.4GHz at all. When I try to connect to the 2.4GHz it just keeps asking for the password. I have also taken the laptop to my university and it will connect to the university's wifi but only when in specific buildings. I'm just wondering if there is a way to increase the range at home for the 5GHz and somehow connect to the 2.4GHz? Thanks.

Side note: I could connect to the 2.4GHz during the installation process of Debian 10, but after the installation I cannot connect!

Sounds like a driver issue. What wi-fi card do you have, and do you know what driver it's using? What does running "lsmod" give you?
