Exact message? And do it from the terminal. Make sure you're in the same directory as it, and type in
Code:
sudo dpkg -i (whatever the deb is called)
Though like I say, don't bother with the deb, do it with a package manager- try
Code:
sudo synaptic
or
Code:
sudo apt-get install (programme you want to install)
and that'll handle dependencies
