ddrescue - home directory missing

I had a failing SSD drive, performed a ddrescue on it, and recovered a good chunk of data. But, home directory seems to be missing from the output image. To be honest I'm not sure the home directory wasn't stored on an altogether different disk, so wondering if I can find some where in the system files (which were saved) a log on which UUID the home directory was found.

Would also be great if someone can suggest why the home directory is likely missing, when other files were saved, and how to restore it.

If you have the system files, you can look at /etc/fstab to see if /home was mounted from another device.
