dd pulling stuff out of music CDs?

I was going to ask how to mount audio CDs but it seems this cannot be done except with some special file system.

The command:
$ dd if=/dev/sr0 of=myfile bs=2048 skip=100000 count=10000
or something very like that, said I/O error. (sro is the device name of an external, USB DVDR/W.)

Was trying to get some stuff out of the middle of a music CDROM. So assumed the CDROM should have been mounted.

So what is the real problem? No idea what I'm doing.

I'm afraid that audio CDs don't have a file-system that dd
(or mount, for that matter) can make sense of. What exactly
are you trying to achieve?

Cheers,
Tink

Don't remotely know what I'm doing: Seems that multi-session CDs that have been burnt should start with music. Thought to do it in music CD style so tryed to avoid .wav format or similar. Did manage to get .raw stuff.

Should probably just learn more about burning optical media.
