damnsmall linux wont load correctly

i have finally gotten DSL ... i like the start up screen and all. Its just i have a hard time when it wants to boot up. it gives me a hard time! here are the following things that happen:

i load it hit F2 like it asks... enter failsafe mode for a faster faster but the mouse is hung up in the middle of the screen!

when i enter the linux distro it has a horable gray/black color to it!

when i try for my third time it asks me if i wana use the usb mouse.. i say yes and i still get nothing outa the mouse! i move it but nothing happens!

the biggest problem i think i have is the mouse refusing to work! how do i get my USB mouse to work? it aslo asks me to check my bios.. dont know why... any ideas people? i want the DLS distro to work properly!

thank you *sigh*
